Last updated: April 18, 2026
Trolless is an AI-powered social media comment moderation app developed by 20deka (Peter Dermek). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
- Email address — collected via the landing page waitlist or during account registration.
- Facebook Page tokens — granted when you connect your Facebook Page so Trolless can read and moderate comments on your behalf.
- Comment data — comments and related metadata from your connected Facebook Pages, processed for moderation.
- Usage metrics — anonymous analytics such as feature usage counts, wipe counts, and error logs to improve the service.
- Account & subscription data — your subscription status, managed through Google Play Billing.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To moderate comments on your connected social media pages using AI.
- To manage your account, subscription, and support requests.
- To send you product updates if you opted in on the landing page.
- To improve Trolless through aggregated, anonymous usage metrics.
3. Data Storage
- On-device (local) — Comment data and app state are stored locally on your device in a SQLite database.
- Backend server — Account information, subscription data, and Page tokens are stored on our backend server (PostgreSQL).
4. Data Retention
- Safe (non-toxic) comments: automatically deleted from local storage after 3 days.
- All local comment data: automatically deleted after 30 days.
- Backend data: account and subscription information is retained for the lifetime of your account.
5. Third-Party Services
Trolless integrates with the following third-party services:
- Google — Authentication (Google Sign-In) and subscription billing (Google Play Billing).
- Facebook (Meta) — Graph API for reading and managing Page comments.
- OpenAI (ChatGPT) — AI-based comment analysis and moderation.
- Google (Gemini) — AI-based comment analysis and moderation.
Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We only share data with these services as necessary to provide Trolless functionality.
